FAQ

Are Huss Valley abilities permanent?
Current guides describe ability unlocks as permanent, unlike consumable item packs that have limited uses.
What are the free abilities?
Community references list One Hit Shield as the free Runner ability and Bear Trap as the free Chaser ability.
Why are the prices different from older guides?
Huss Valley shop values changed between October guide snapshots. This page dates its price table and recommends checking the live shop.

Runner abilities

Ability Reported effect Oct. 10 Gem snapshot
One Hit Shield Blocks the next hit during a very short activation window Free
Pocket Door Places a temporary obstacle that a Chaser can break 875
Inflatable Decoy Sends a copy running for about seven seconds 1,200
Emergency Airhorn Knocks back a nearby Chaser 1,450
Cloak Hides the Runner for about three seconds 1,625

Cloak is not invulnerability. Current guides say the Chaser can still hit you, and using an item ends the effect. One Hit Shield also needs precise timing: the reported protection window is only around three quarters of a second.

Chaser abilities

Ability Reported effect Oct. 10 Gem snapshot
Bear Trap Throws a trap ahead and briefly holds a Runner Free
Bowling Ball Rolls a projectile that can trip a Runner 600
Big Dagger Temporarily increases melee reach 1,125
Rocket Shoes Dashes the Chaser forward 1,300
Rufus’s Leash Pulls a Runner toward the Chaser 1,625

The free Bear Trap remains useful for learning prediction. Place it on the route a Runner is choosing, not directly at their current feet. Rocket Shoes are a commitment tool, while Rufus’s Leash can punish a Runner who has already spent their dodge.

Important price warning

The numbers above come from an independent October 10, 2026 planner. Earlier October articles showed lower values—for example, 1,000 Gems for Cloak and Emergency Airhorn. Because the two dated snapshots disagree, treat the live shop as authoritative. We retain the newer snapshot to help with rough planning, not to guarantee a checkout price.

Which ability should you unlock first?

For a Runner who struggles at close range, Airhorn’s separation can be easier to understand than Cloak. For a Chaser who needs mobility, Rocket Shoes can create pressure; for one who reads routes well, Leash can convert prediction into a catch. The right first unlock depends on role and play style.

Use the ability tier list for a comparative view, then apply the tactics in the Runner guide or Chaser guide. The Gems and Coins guide explains why saving for one permanent unlock is often better than impulse spending.
